What is The Emotion Code?
The Emotion Code ™ is a technique developed by chiropractor Dr. Bradley Nelson. Dr. Nelson found that he wasn't getting the long lasting results that he wanted for his chiropractic clients. He began to suspect that many issues had an emotional component to them and would not be healed unless those emotions were identified and released. Out of this insight, The Emotion Code was born.
What is a trapped emotion?
A trapped emotion is an emotion that was not fully processed at the time of a negative past event and is now lodged or trapped somewhere in the body. Because we humans are essentially energetic beings, that emotion is experienced as a trapped energy that blocks the body from healing itself. It can express itself physically, mentally or emotionally.
What kind of issues can be addressed during an Emotion Code session?
Virtually any kind of issue that is bothering you might be associated with a trapped emotion.
These commonly include:
Anxiousness
Feeling low or dejected
Anger
Feeling stuck
Limiting fears or aversions
Self-sabotage
Compulsions
Relationship issues
Physical issues, particularly long standing issues that don't respond to conventional treatment

How do you identify the trapped emotion that is causing the problem?
Trapped emotions are identified by asking questions of the subject's subconscious mind using muscle testing, a form of kinesiology. The subject (or the practitioner if acting as proxy in a remote session) is tested for yes or no questions to narrow down the possibilities from a chart of possible negative emotions. If the answer to the question is in the affirmative, the muscle tests strong. If the answer is negative, the muscle tests weak. Through a series of questions, we can also identify the age at which the emotion occurred or if it was inherited or absorbed from someone else. In some cases, the emotion may form part of a heart wall.
What is a heart wall?
A heart wall is an energetic barrier that surrounds and protects the heart. It is usually made up of more than one trapped emotion. It was originally formed, often in childhood, to protect the subject from being emotionally hurt, but in the present day it is acting as a barrier to relationships and fulfillment. The trapped emotions that make up the heart wall can be identified and released one at a time until that barrier is eliminated.
How do you release trapped emotions?
The energy of the trapped emotion is released by swiping the hand, which has a slight magnetic charge, or a magnet down the Governing Meridian, which acupuncturists have identified as the main pathway of energy that leads from the head to the base of the spine. Because we are working with energy, this release can be done in person on the subject or by proxy on the practitioner.
Can I book an Emotion Code session for a child? Other family members? Pets?
The Emotion Code has proven very effective in dealing with issues experienced by children and even pets. For ethical reasons, the person booking the session for a minor must be the legal guardian and must complete a release form on behalf of the minor. If the child is 12 years old or older, he/she must give consent as well. It is possible to book a session for another adult with the full consent of that person. (It is considered unethical to do energy work on an adult without their express permission.) Animal sessions must be booked by the owner and a release form completed. We have worked successfully with dogs, cats, horses and birds!
Are all issues caused by trapped emotions?
There may be many causes of the negative issues we experience. For example, some issues are caused by injuries or structural irregularities or environmental toxins. Rest assured, however, that everyone who has any life experience has accumulated negative trapped emotions during their lifetime. Releasing these emotions has a cascading effect that helps the body heal itself.
